EyesDetailed eyes always look good, so take your time with them. The highlights in the eyes dictate the lighting direction for the whole picture.
Create a new layer (shift+ctrl+N) and set its mode to Multiply. This lets you colour over your linework without screwing it up, to put it simply. On this new layer, use the Paintbrush tool (normal, 100%) with a hard-edged brush to lay down a solid base colour. The lines of your artwork should show through the colour. Clean up any messy painting with the Eraser tool.

DodgingNow grab the Dodge tool (highlights, 50%). Put in some highlights near the one you've already drawn, using a nice soft brush. The effect will be different depending on your settings, so play around with it until you find what works for you.
BurningAfter that, use the Burn tool (midtones, 50%) to create a bit of shadow if desired.
Extra detailI don't normally do this, but for a bit of extra detail I used the Paintbrush to put in a couple more highlights. Use a very small, soft brush and white (or a similarly light colour) to do this.
